Installing WriterBoard Apprentice

Windows Installation

1. Download the latest WriterBoard installer.

2. Double-click the installer.

If Windows Defender SmartScreen displays:

1. Click More info.

2. Click Run anyway.

3. Continue with the installation.

4. Once installed, launch WriterBoard normally.

Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may display this warning because the application is unsigned or has not yet built enough reputation. This is expected for new software distributed outside the Microsoft Store.

MacOS Installation

1. Download the WriterBoard .dmg file.

2. Open the DMG.

3. Drag WriterBoard into the Applications folder.

4. Open the Applications folder and double-click WriterBoard.

The first time you launch the application, macOS may prevent it from opening.

If this happens:

1. Attempt to open WriterBoard once.

2. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.

3. Scroll to the Security section.

4. Click Open Anyway next to WriterBoard.

5. Enter your Mac password if prompted.

6. Confirm by clicking Open.

This only needs to be done once. After that, WriterBoard will open normally like any other application.
